By comparison of bearing system, what is the difference between vertical and horizontal motors?
In addition to the differences in installation methods, vertical and horizontal motors have essential differences in the bearing system of most motors, that is, the configuration of the motor bearing system is different.
In order to ensure that the mechanical properties of the motor meet the requirements, in addition to the radial and axial dimensional chain control of the parts, the configuration of the bearing system is very important; especially for the occasions where the motor axial dimensional control requirements are high, the configuration of the motor bearing is more important. as important.
For horizontal motors, deep groove ball bearings are the first choice for motor bearings and positioning bearings, that is, as long as the load meets the requirements, most of them will choose deep groove ball bearings; and when the radial load demand of the motor is large, it will be on the shaft of the motor The extension end adopts cylindrical roller bearings.
For vertical motors, due to the particularity of the motor installation method, because the self-weight of the motor rotor is parallel to the axial force of the motor bearing, the problem of the axial force of the motor must be solved through the configuration of angular contact ball bearings. Contact ball bearings are used as locating bearings. And according to the actual requirements of the load and axial movement during the operation of the motor, determine the configuration position of the locating bearing:
When the radial load of the motor is not too large, the vertical motor adopts a two-bearing structure configuration of deep groove ball bearings and angular contact ball bearings, and the angular contact ball bearings can be installed on the shaft end or non-shaft end of the motor;
When the radial load of the motor is large and the control of the axial movement is not high, the angular contact ball bearing is installed on the non-shaft extension end of the motor, and the shaft extension end adopts a cylindrical roller bearing.
Angular contact ball bearings are used in vertical motors. On the one hand, it reflects the positioning function of the ball bearings. On the other hand, it is also very important to balance the weight of the rotor itself when the motor is installed vertically. Therefore, no matter whether the angular contact ball bearing is installed on the upper end or the lower end of the vertical motor, the balance effect of the bearing on the weight of the rotor must be ensured, that is, when the angular contact ball bearing is installed above the motor, it can suspend the motor rotor, and when the angular contact ball bearing is installed above the motor, it can suspend the motor rotor. When the contact ball bearing is installed at the lower end, it can lift the rotor of the motor, and the contact angle of the bearing is the key to control the bearing installation.
