DC reduction motor speed measurement method and speed measurement process

Date:2024-01-08 Author:XINDA MOTOR

DC reduction motor, that is, gear reduction motor, is based on an ordinary DC motor with a matching gear reduction box. The function of the gear reduction box is to provide lower speed and larger torque. At the same time, different reduction ratios of the gearbox can provide different speeds and torques. This has greatly increased the use rate of DC motors in the automation industry. Reduced motor refers to the integration of reducer and motor (motor). This integrated body is often also called a gear motor or gear motor. It is usually integrated and assembled by a professional reducer manufacturer and then supplied in complete sets. Reduced motors are widely used in the steel industry, machinery industry, etc. The advantages of using a reduction motor are simplified design and space saving.

With the rapid development of the motor industry, the application of DC reduction motors is becoming more and more widespread. When using them, many friends do not know the speed measurement method of DC reduction motors. In fact, the main purpose is to test the speed and rotation speed of DC reduction motors. Moment, performance and other requirements, let’s briefly introduce the speed measurement method and project process!

1. Speed measurement method

The rotating shaft of the DC reduction motor drives the magnet on the shaft to rotate, thereby continuously changing the size of the magnetic field. The magnetic field changes are converted into pulse signals through the Hall circuit. After amplification and shaping, a rectangular pulse signal is output. When the speed changes, a pulse signal is output. The frequency will change, thus obtaining the speed of the DC geared motor.

2. Photoelectric velocity measurement method

When the DC motor drives the grid disk to rotate through the transmission part, the speed measuring photogate obtains a series of pulse signals. These pulse signals are matched by two timers/counters, one counting and one timing. Calculate the number of pulses m per unit time. After unit conversion, the speed of the DC gear motor can be calculated.

Speed test project process:

(1) Forward and reverse rotation

Because the structure of DC reduction motor is very different from that of DC motor. Therefore, changing the power supply cannot change the direction of rotation. Only changing the relative relationship between the stator winding magnetic potential and the rotor magnetic field can change the direction of rotation.

(2) Microcomputer control

DC geared motors are produced and developed using digital control technology. Therefore, using a microcomputer to digitally control the DC reduction motor is the main control method.

(3) Speed regulation

The speed regulation of DC reduction motor can be achieved by changing the voltage. There are two common methods: one is to keep the conduction time of each phase unchanged. Speed regulation is achieved by varying the amplitude of the voltage added to the coil when each phase is switched on. The second is to keep the voltage amplitude unchanged and change the conduction time of each phase to achieve speed regulation.
