In August 2022, the retail sales of the passenger car market reached 1.871 million units, a year-on-year increase of 28.9%, which is the highest growth rate in the past 10 years; retail sales in August increased by 2.9% month-on-month, and the month-on-month growth rate was at The second-lowest level in history for the same period in the past 10 years. The cumulative retail sales from January to August was 12.950 million units, a year-on-year increase of 0.1% and a year-on-year increase of 13,000 units.

  According to data from the Passenger Federation, the wholesale sales of new energy passenger vehicles reached 632,000 units in August, a year-on-year increase of 103.9% and a month-on-month increase of 12.0%. Under the policy of halving the car purchase tax, new energy vehicles were not only not affected, but continued to improve month-on-month. more than expected. From January to August, 3.662 million new energy passenger vehicles were wholesaled, a year-on-year increase of 119.4%. In August, the retail sales of new energy passenger vehicles reached 529,000 units, a year-on-year increase of 111.2% and a month-on-month increase of 8.8%. From January to August, a "W-shaped" trend was formed. From January to August, the domestic retail sales of new energy passenger vehicles was 3.262 million, a year-on-year increase of 119.7%.

  China Passenger Car Association said that the new energy passenger car market hit a record high in August, and BYD's pure electric and plug-in hybrid drives consolidated its leading position in new energy brands; traditional car companies represented by Chery Group and GAC Group performed in the new energy sector quite prominent. In terms of product launch, with the multi-line development of independent car companies on the new energy route, the market base continues to expand.    In August, the sales of new power car companies such as Xiaopeng, Nezha, Ideal, Weilai, Leapmotor, and Weimar were still relatively strong year-on-year and month-on-month, especially the second camp's Nezha and Leapao. It is also the advantage of the segmented market track. Among the mainstream joint venture brands, Volkswagen in the North and South is a strong leader, with 22,600 new energy vehicles wholesaled, accounting for 61.2% of the mainstream joint venture pure electric vehicles.
