How is the power of the motor "stolen"?

Date:2024-10-22 Author:XINDA MOTOR

Looking at the Chinese motor industry, although there are ups and downs, it is developing in a positive direction overall. As the market share of motors continues to grow, various problems have emerged and been put on the table. These problems are related to the industry and the market.

1. The problem of motor counterfeiting is endless

The electric motor is the power output part of the entire unit, accounting for a large part of the equipment cost, and is the link that some unscrupulous manufacturers like to cheat the most.

1. Fake motors

At present, most of the well-known motors on the market have counterfeit manufacturers. The appearance is exactly the same as that of the well-known brands, and the core components are counterfeit brands with eye-catching LOGO words on them. The annual sales of counterfeit motors are quite amazing. According to reliable statistics, the profit of the counterfeit market is as high as tens of billions of yuan, but these motors are rarely seen by users or the market. Why? The reason is counterfeiting. These counterfeit motors are bought by unscrupulous merchants, put on the nameplate of well-known brands, and sold to the demanders as genuine products.

2. Refurbish old motors

Each brand has refurbished old motors, which are also difficult to distinguish if you are not a professional. The price of these refurbished old motors is much lower than that of new motors, but their lifespan and performance are no longer the same, and they may even affect the normal operation of the entire equipment group, causing direct economic losses.

3. Use similar factory names to confuse people

These bad manufacturers are a bit timid and dare not to make counterfeits or refurbish products, so they play tricks on the factory names and motor names to confuse the public.

4. Swap cards and use small to pass off as big

Replace the nameplate of a high-power motor with a smaller motor to achieve the purpose of reducing costs.

The technical threshold for motors is not high, and the quality depends entirely on whether the materials used are of high quality.

5. Stator core silicon steel sheet

The stator core is made of silicon steel sheets that are stamped and then welded together. The quality of the silicon steel sheets is directly related to the size of the stator magnetic field circulation. Good motor manufacturers will use cold-rolled silicon steel sheets that are stamped once , but some small factories make low-priced motors that use hot-rolled silicon steel sheets or even scraps to reduce costs.

6. Material of stator coil

The stator coils were originally made of pure copper wire, but with the improvement of wire making technology, copper-clad aluminum core wires have appeared. Different from copper-plated aluminum wires, copper-clad aluminum core wires are made of copper-clad aluminum when drawing and forming using special molds, and the copper layer is much thicker than copper plating. There is not much difference in performance when using copper-clad aluminum core wires for motor stator coils, but the service life is much shorter than that of pure copper wire stator coils.

7. Pitch and number of turns of stator coil

The stator coil can also be made into 5/6 pitch and 48 turns by using all copper wire. Because the coil has 24 fewer turns, the copper wire usage is reduced and the cost can be reduced by 10%. The copper wire used in the 2/3 pitch and 72 turns stator is thinner, with 30% more turns and more coils per turn. The current waveform is stable and it is not easy to heat up.

8. Rotor bearing

The rotor bearing is the only wear part in the motor. The gap between the rotor and the stator is very small. If the bearing is not used properly, it is very easy for the rotor to rub against the stator after wear, commonly known as "braking", which will generate high heat and burn the motor.

2. Careful calculation reveals the price of motors

The structure of the motor group has been explained very clearly before, so the price structure becomes very simple: motor price + control system price + accessories price + assembly fee + factory profit + tax.

1. Understanding the prices of motors, control systems, and accessories

After the motor is decided, the manufacturer and model of the control system and accessories are basically clear. If some manufacturers do not even provide you with basic technical parameters, such manufacturers are not trustworthy and should be abandoned as soon as possible to avoid being deceived.

2. Calculate prices and identify authenticity

When calculating the price, do not include the factory profit. After the cost price is calculated, compare it with the lowest price after communication with various manufacturers. The manufacturer that is lower than your calculated cost must be problematic. Do you believe that there will be manufacturers selling products to you at a loss? Some manufacturers even offer prices that cannot buy motors, which must be fake.
