  1. Micro brushed DC motor structure


  A brushed DC motor is composed of a rotor core, windings, commutator, brushes/carbon brushes, permanent magnets, casing and back cover. After DC power is supplied, the DC power will enter the winding through the brushes and commutator, generating an armature current. The interaction between the armature current magnetic field and the main magnetic field will generate electromagnetic torque, causing the motor to rotate. The function of the commutator in the micro motor is to send the input DC current into the armature winding through the brush or carbon brush and commutator and convert it into alternating current. When the micro DC motor is running, the brush and commutator will continuously of friction.




  2. Reasons why miniature brushed DC motors are widely used


  The reason why brushed DC motors are widely used is their low cost and simple and convenient speed adjustment. Under the premise of meeting the necessary performance, low cost and sufficient reliability, brushed motors are a good choice. In terms of speed adjustment, they are only The speed adjustment can be achieved by directly adjusting the input voltage, which greatly reduces the cost. The starting torque is large and can be matched with different types of reduction gearboxes (gearboxes) to increase torque and reduce speed.


  The disadvantage of micro brushed DC motors is that the service life is not as long as brushless motors. The lifespan of brushless motors is only limited by the bearings. The service life of micro brushed DC motors is related to the brush material. When the brushes fail, the micromotor cannot continue. Rotation and carbon brush material micromotors have a relatively long service life. Generally, the continuous operation time can reach hundreds of hours. The higher the micromotor speed and the more frequent forward and reverse operations, the shorter the service life.




  Principles for purchasing miniature brushed DC motors: The brush life is short and the noise is low; the carbon brush life is long, but the noise will be relatively high. The faster the speed, the louder the noise will be; the more gear sets the reduction motor has, the greater the reduction ratio will be. , the lower the speed, the greater the torque, and the lower the efficiency. On the contrary, the fewer gear sets, the smaller the torque, the higher the speed, and the higher the efficiency.
