one. Servo concept

"Servo" - the word comes from the Greek word "slave". People want to use the "servo mechanism" as a handy tool for taming, and act in accordance with the requirements of control signals. Before the signal arrives, the rotor stands still; after the signal arrives, the rotor rotates immediately; when the signal disappears, the rotor can immediately stop by itself. Because of its "servo" performance, hence the name - servo system.

"Servo" is an automatic control system that enables the output controlled quantities such as the position, orientation, and state of an object to follow any change in the input target (or given value). Its main task is to amplify, transform and regulate the power according to the requirements of the control command, so that the output torque, speed and position of the drive device can be controlled very flexibly and conveniently.

two. Performance comparison between servo motor and stepper motor

As an open-loop control system, the stepper motor has an essential connection with modern digital control technology. In the current domestic digital control system, stepper motors are widely used.

With the emergence of all-digital AC servo systems, AC servo motors are increasingly used in digital control systems. In order to adapt to the development trend of digital control, most of the motion control systems use stepper motors or all-digital AC servo motors as executive motors. Although both are similar in control mode (pulse train and direction signal), there are big differences in performance and application occasions. Now compare the performance of the two.
