Analysis over the safety factor of miniature reduction gearboxes
The safety factor of the miniature reduction gearbox refers to the use factor of the reducer (generally > 1, that is, the capacity of the reducer > the capacity of the motor) in combination with factors such as working conditions and driven machinery when selecting the reducer to determine the speed of the reducer. The rated mechanical energy and thermal energy have a margin. Influencing factors include running time, load also known as "load" conditions, etc.
One of the basic requirements for the safety factor of the geared motor is to make the gear have sufficient load capacity. At present, although there are recognized (standard) calculation methods for the load-carrying capacity of the tooth surface, tooth root and meshing, there are many factors (commonly used coefficients or parameters) that affect the load-carrying capacity of gears, and some influencing factors are contradictory and restrict each other. Therefore, for a general engineer who is initially involved in gear design, it may be difficult to complete the gear transmission design satisfactorily. In the calculation of the bearing capacity of the reducer device, it is important to select an appropriate safety factor, because an excessively large safety factor will increase the overall size and weight of the transmission and increase the manufacturing cost; and an excessively small safety factor may cause UNINTENDED FAULTS AND HAZARDS. An appropriate safety factor should be at a reasonable manufacturing cost; enabling the device to meet the given reliability requirements.
Safety factor for gear contact and bending fatigue strength:
1. High reliability (failure rate not greater than 1/10000) 1.50~1.60, 2.00
2. High reliability (failure rate not greater than 1/1000) 1.25~1.30, 1.60
3. General reliability (failure rate not greater than 1/100) 1.00~1.10, 1.25
4. Low reliability (failure rate not greater than 1/10) 0.85, 1.00
