Why does the motor burn out? Is it high temperature? What are the common causes
I believe that most of my friends know that the motor is burnt out. Generally speaking, the direct cause is high temperature. So what are the main reasons for the high temperature of the motor? Simply analyze it for you!
First, the internal reasons of the motor
1. When installing and maintaining the motor, the wiring is wrong;
2. The winding or inter-turn short circuit causes the winding to increase and the three-phase current is unbalanced;
3. The coils in the pole-phase group are connected incorrectly or the number of coils in each phase is unevenly distributed, resulting in unbalanced three-phase no-load current and excessive current;
4. The stator and rotor generate frictional heat;
5. Motor bearings are overheated.
2. Reasons for motor load
1. The motor is overloaded for a long time, and the stator current far exceeds the rated current, causing the motor to overheat;
2. The motor starts frequently, which causes the motor temperature to rise too high;
3. The motor is stuck and does not rotate or the speed drops sharply, resulting in a rapid increase in current;
4. The working system of the motor does not match the working system of the load.
3. Reasons for environment and ventilation and heat dissipation
1. The working environment of the motor cannot obtain good ventilation and heat dissipation, resulting in excessive temperature;
2. Excessive dust and grease in the motor is not conducive to the heat dissipation of the motor;
3. The fan is damaged, deformed, loose, not installed or not installed backwards, resulting in poor ventilation and heat dissipation of the motor.
The above is the introduction of the main reasons for the motor burnout. I believe that everyone has some understanding. Mastering these basic knowledge can ensure the safe and stable operation of the motor!
