Graphical new energy - Analysis of China's charging facilities in August

With the increase in the number of electric vehicles, the problems of public charging piles are highlighted:

●  In August, there were 702,000 DC charging piles and 921,000 AC charging piles in China. The number of public charging piles increased by 48,000 units in a single month. The price of AC charging piles is relatively low here, and the new increase is much faster than that of DC charging piles.

●  From January to August 2022, the number of public charging piles increased by 476,000, the number of privately built charging stations was 1.221 million, the total charging facilities increased by 1.698 million, and the sales volume of new energy vehicles was 3.86 million.

●  In 2022, China's pile-to-vehicle increment ratio is 1:2.3. If the public AC piles are removed to see the DC piles, the data will be 1:8.1(even less optimistic). If the AC piles are removed, it will be 1:16.

I think China's further development of pure electric, public charging facilities will become a big challenge.

As shown in the figure below, at present, 11.7 million of the inventory are new energy vehicles, and 4.315 million are self-built AC piles + public parts. The overall charging convenience is a big challenge.

Distribution of charging facilities

As shown in Figure 3 below, since the construction of charging facilities requires local financial support, at present, the overall construction is mainly based on coastal cities, and from the charging capacity of a single pile, it can be seen that the use of high frequency is around some cities. . The monthly charging capacity of each public pile is about 1000kwh-2000kwh, and the average revenue generated each month is about 1500-3000 yuan (including charging fee) . If the service fee is 0.8 yuan, the value generated is 800- 1600 yuan, usually only DC piles have this conversion.

As shown in the figure below, the incremental differences of various service operators in August are relatively large.

In fact, this data can be compared with the data of the following DC piles. At present, the DC piles are still arranged around 2B cars, and the fast charging level of family cars is still relatively small.

Auto companies' self-built networks

Due to the promotion of 2C consumers, the ability to install charging piles at home will not be higher than 50% in the long run, and it is still gradually declining. How to solve the problem of replenishing energy for half of consumers is the main solution for car companies. The simplest solution is to do an aggregation and let car owners find a way; while Tesla, Weilai, Xiaopeng and Kaimeisi are still vigorously promoting their own operating networks.

The data in Figure 6 below, I found different car companies to update them separately. The first few exceeded 1,000 supercharging stations, but the overall number of charging piles is still different.

As of August, Tesla has built more than 1,200 super-charging stations and 9,000 super-charging piles in China; 100+ fast-charging stations have been built in Beijing and Jiangsu, respectively, and the overall development is still revolving around fast-charging.

Weilai Automobile and Xiaopeng Automobile, one is the double repair of battery replacement and fast charging, and the other is specialized in fast charging, and the overall number has exceeded 1,000 stations.

For the swap station, the data is currently tracking more NIO cars, and it has begun to develop to 2,000 cars. There will be a wave of ET5 deliveries, and some corresponding quick swap stations will also be added.
