On October 26, the 2024 China International Agricultural Machinery Exhibition (hereinafter referred to as the "International Agricultural Machinery Exhibition") opened grandly in Changsha, Hunan. This grand event, co-organized by the China Agricultural Machinery Circulation Association, the China Agricultural Mechanization Association, and the China Agricultural Machinery Industry Association, attracted more than 2,600 Chinese and foreign exhibitors, with a total exhibition area of 250,000 square meters. The number of visitors is expected to exceed 200,000, setting a historical record.

Zhang Yingchun, member of the Standing Committee of the Hunan Provincial Party Committee and Executive Vice Governor, Zhang Xiaolun, Chairman of China National Machinery Industry Corporation, Luo Xiwen, Chen Xuegeng, Zhao Chunjiang, Zou Xuexiao, and Bai Lianyang, academicians of the Chinese Academy of Engineering, Zheng Wenkai, Chairman of the China Rural Development Foundation and former Deputy Director of the State Council Leading Group Office of Poverty Alleviation and Development, Zhang Tianzuo, Chairman of the China Agricultural Reclamation Economic and Trade Circulation Association and former Chief Animal Husbandry Officer of the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs, Wang Jiayun, First-level Inspector and Deputy Director of the Agricultural Mechanization Management Department of the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs, and Liu Hengxin, Director and Party Secretary of the Agricultural Mechanization General Station of the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs, and other experts and leaders attended the opening ceremony. Fan Jianhua, President of the China Agricultural Machinery Circulation Association, delivered a speech, Li Weiguo, President of the China Agricultural Mechanization Association, announced the recent arrangements for the agricultural machinery exhibition, and Zhang Yingchun delivered a speech and announced the opening. The theme of this International Agricultural Machinery Exhibition is "Building New Quality Productivity of Agricultural Machinery and Accelerating the Construction of an Agricultural Power". It mainly includes two parts: First, the exhibition is divided into traditional exhibition areas and special areas. The traditional exhibition area covers a full range of agricultural machinery products from tractors to breeding and manure treatment equipment. The special areas include the Hunan Agricultural Machinery Enterprises Exhibition Area, Smart Agriculture and Intelligent Agricultural Machinery Exhibition Area, etc., showing the diversification and innovation of the agricultural machinery industry.

Second, in terms of forum activities, we organized the Agricultural Machinery Market Development Forum, seminars on different links and crops, industry-education integration, financial and media support for agricultural mechanization development, etc., focusing on major national strategies, cutting-edge agricultural technology, and high-quality development of agricultural mechanization. There were more than 50 forums in total, and the China Smart Agriculture Conference and the Pasture Conference attracted much attention. The convening of these forums will provide valuable ideas and directions for the future development of the agricultural machinery industry.

At the exhibition, exhibitors tried their best to showcase their products. Among them, the booths of smart agricultural equipment and smart agricultural machinery attracted much attention. Electric agricultural machinery products such as electric tractors, electric harvesters, and electric plant protection drones allowed the audience to experience the excellent performance and environmental advantages of electric agricultural machinery. In addition, various activities such as driving experience and check-in rewards also emerged in an endless stream. The audience was shoulder to shoulder and could not move at all.

It is reported that this China International Agricultural Machinery Exhibition is the first time to be held across the Yangtze River since its inception. Whether it is product types, exhibition area scale or the number of exhibitors, they have all set a historical record. Among the international visitors, overseas visitors from major agricultural producing countries in the world such as Southeast Asia and Central Asia have increased, with more than 2,000 registered visitors. This annual event in the agricultural machinery industry will surely bring more innovation and cooperation, and make positive contributions to the prosperity of the agricultural machinery industry.

This year, the International Agricultural Machinery Exhibition moved to Changsha, which was the first time the exhibition was held in a city south of the Yangtze River. The exhibition area increased significantly, and the number of exhibitors also increased by 20% over previous years, with most of the growth coming from small and medium-sized enterprises and parts companies.
